Mahou no Kotoba ~Would You Marry Me?~
(#5 in the D-A-I Series)

Stepped by Xythar for Late Night Love with DDRExtreme.co.uk

I bought Do As Infinity's penultimate album "Gates of Heaven" originally for their most well-known song Honjitsu wa Seiten Nari (or at least most well-known outside of Japan, Rakuen might have been the most popular inside Japan I think) but it also happened to have a few other nice songs on it, like this one. Do As Infinity abandon their usual style here (as they have occasionally been known to do) for a pleasant soft-rock song heavy on brass and strings (but with Ryo Owatari's guitar still quite evident in the background).

There was quite a cast of ensemble musicians for this one, as you can see in the video - mostly for the aforementioned brass and strings. The other guitarist and the drummer are quasi-members of the band as you can see them in other videos as well (as well as probably several other people I don't remember). The music video is one of my favourite DAI videos, which contributed somewhat to my decision to step this for LNL (that, and the subject of the song makes it a pretty obvious choice).

It should be pretty obvious what the song is about, but if you're not convinced you can see the translated lyrics here:

That's also where I got the romaji from. It's a really useful site for DAI fans, that's for sure!

For the graphics - yes, I used the single cover. Deal with it. :P Personally I thought it looked fine after I'd removed their text and added my own - I did basically just extend the whiteness to make it the correct aspect ratio, but that fits in nicely with the video's white background. I tried a bunch of other ideas before this using different images, but this one worked best for me.

I think I got lucky with the video banner this time, as it synced up and looped perfectly on my first try. Go figure, but I'm certainly not complaining :) It's kind of a bit hard to see her half the time because of the camera panning but that's not *my* fault. The text is but I couldn't have made it much smaller, I don't think. You'll see plenty of the video when you play, anyway.

As for the steps, heavy basically has the steps I had planned for the song ever since LNL was announced for the first time as "Love Mix", Standard is a cut down version of that, Light and Beginner are Light and Beginner. I would normally write more but I finished the steps a while ago and now I can't even remember what I did (maybe not a good sign? :P). Heavy does use some pretty ordinary patterns and has few crossovers or anything but in most cases I simply used whatever I felt was most appropriate. Not every song has to have you pirouetting all over the place like a ballerina. :)

Also, I think this is the most freezes I have ever used. Go me!

Well, I can't think of anything much more to say. I wish you many happy returns!
